Lauren Branning makes huge discovery after returning to Walford in EastEnders

WALFORD welcomes Lauren Branning back in upcoming soap scenes after several months of absence.

But upon her comeback to Albert Square, the EastEnders favourite played by Jacqueline Jossa makes a shocking discovery.

While Penny Branning (played by Kitty Castledine) was able to come back to Walford without any issues, Lauren was unable to follow her as she was arrested while she was trying to leave Paris.

But in scenes due to air on BBC One, Lauren finally manages to head back to Walford and gets the shock of her life.

Coming up, a newly released Lauren arrives back in Albert Square and is desperate to be reunited with her son Louie.

Peter Beale (Thomas Law) manages to convince her to stay longer, and Lauren goes to see Penny and check she’s okay.

Fortunately for the Vic landlady, Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) promises not to tell.

However, as Lauren and Louie get into the taxi, Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) stops her to reveal that she’s got another sister in Walford.

As regular viewers will remember, Linda had an affair with Lauren's father Max Branning who left the Square in 2021.

Since then, Linda tried to fix her marriage with Mick Carter but this ended in tears as he vanished at sea on Christmas Day 2022.

Lauren had no idea Linda gave birth to a baby girl, who ended up being raised as part of the Carter clan.

In later scenes, Lauren bursts into The Vic and demands to know why Linda didn’t tell her that Annie is her sister.

How will Linda react?

Could this piece of news be enough to bring Max himself back to the Square?

This wouldn't be the first time Lauren squares up to Linda.

Back in late 2022, Lauren returned to Walford following the death of icon Dot Cotton.

While in Albert Square for Dot's funeral, Lauren spotted Linda and immediately confronted her over her affair with Max Branning.

At the time, no mention was made about Annie as Linda has been terrified Max could return in an attempt to snatch her daughter away.

Since his departure from the Square, Max relocated to Croatia after briefly living in New Zealand with Lauren - and having an affair with another one of her best friends.
