I'M A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! star Grace Dent has broken down in tears after being made to cook for a special episode of MasterChef.

Grace, 50, found herself overcome with emotion after serving up a dish to judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace during one off festive instalment.

The IAC campmate, who left this year's jungle early on medical grounds, showed off her own cooking skills in the MasterChef: Battle Of The Critics special.

But after presenting John and Gregg with a plate of butter chicken, she seemed shocked that they actually liked it.

John told the food critic that he "loved" her curry, while Gregg gushed: "I could honestly just eat that by the ladle full. Well done you!"

Blinking back tears, Grace quietly whispered a "thank you".

Gregg seemed particularly shocked by reaction, telling Grace: " God, you're speechless. I've never seen you like this before. You alright, kid?"

With a soft voice, she admitted: "Oh don't, honestly.

"In my head, I was going to say lots of witty things here and there was going to be lost of banter but I'm just sitting here with my lip wobbling."

Before rubbing her eyes, Grace added: "I'm so sorry. I don't know what's up with me."

Grace wandered back to her work station, wiping her nose as she went.

She then told the cameras: "I didn't realise how emotional I was about it all until they said they liked my food at the end.

"It lifts all the pressure off you. I just felt lighter and giddy and certainly a little it proud of myself."

Grace was even heard whispering to her fellow competitors: "I can't believe they actually like it."

Thursday night's episode saw the tables turned on five restaurant critics who have all appeared on MasterChef.

Also in the kitchen was Leyla Kazim, William Sitwell, Jimi Famurewa and Jay Rayner.

Jay was crowned the winner of the Battle Of The Critics at the end of the hour-long show and presented with a gold trophy shaped like a knife and fork.

Last month, Grace flew to Australia to take part in I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here.

However, she walked out of the jungle 10 days into the series on medical grounds.

Grace later described her early exit as "the greatest regret of my life".
