MAFS’s Shona praised as she shows off ‘real skin’ in heath battle update
MARRIED At First Sight UK star Shona Manderson has bravely shown off her 'real skin' while opening up about her ongoing battle with acne.
The performing arts teacher, 31, has snapped a close up photo of her face after removing her make-up and explained that she has been to the doctors for help.
Shona says she has now been given a three-month course of antibiotics and prescribed a medicinal gel to apply to her face.
The star described her spots as red cysts.
Shona clutched the boxes from the chemist and posed for a selfie in the mirror with the gel dotted on her face.
She told her Instagram followers: "*Acne update* My skin was great after my peel. I was buzzing with it but it's flared up again.

"I decided to finally go to the GP and have been given 3 months of Lymecycline (antibiotics) and acnecide gel.
"For those interested I'll keep you updated with how I get on & if anyone's taken before please let me know how you got on.
"I was really reluctant to take antibiotics but they're like cists and so red! x [sic]."
Following her post, Shona received a flurry of messages of support from her fans.

Many shared their experiences and offered tips, for which she has since thanked them for.
"Thank you so much for your kind messages about my skin," Shona wrote in a later post.
"I'm taking so many tips and I really appreciate you reaching out, kind lovely people."
Shona found fame on Married At First Sight's latest series but left the show early because of her unhealthy relationship with Brad Skelly.
Last month, she spoke about her skin battle in a social media video before getting her IUD removed, also known as a 'coil'.
Shona was convinced the contraceptive was causing her spots and had hoped that having it taken out would solve the problem.
She said: "Here's a little update of where I'm at, so my spots seem to be like here, here, here, got them really bad on my chin.
"But I'm getting my coil removed on Monday so hopefully... fingers crossed."
The IUD is a popular choice of contraception for many women and can protect against pregnancy for five to 10 years.
However, acne is listed as a side effect due to the progesterone hormone, which is an androgen.

Meanwhile, viewers of MAFS UK will remember Shona's show groom Brad being axed after displaying "coercive and controlling" behaviour towards her.
But fan favourite Shona is having the last laugh after confirming her relationship with fellow show star Matt Pilmoor.
