Popular BBC spin-off series confirms return – but with major change

The all-star panel of judges are also set to return for the show

POPULAR BBC Three show RuPaul's Drag Race UK Versus The World is to return for a second series.

A spin-off of the hit UK version, itself an adaption of the hugely successful American format, the world's most famous drag queen RuPaul will once again be bringing the best Queen's from across the globe to compete to win the ultimate title.

The series follows an 'All Stars' format and sees fan favourites from across the globe return to the UK 'werkroom' for a second chance at winning.

It will land on BBC Three and BBC iPlayer early next year in news which is set to be a delight to fans.

Drag Queens from the UK, US, Australia, Netherlands, Thailand and more attempt to strut their stuff to impress Ru, his superstar judges and an array of acclaimed guests.

Judges from the regular UK edition, which has so far aired five series on the BBC, Michelle Visage, Graham Norton and Alan Carr will all be back with a few additional A-list names thrown in to to the mix for guest appearances.

The full line-up of returning Queens is yet to be revealed but this time the stakes are higher than ever before.

For the first time in Drag Race UK history the winning Queen will be handed an epic cash prize.

While international formats have regularly seen the winner walking home with some serious money, the UK edition has forbidden any winnings until now.

Last time, Blu Hydrangea won the title of the ultimate drag queen after a fierce face-off with US based Mo Heart.

Speaking about the return of the hit spin-off, RuPaul said: “It is my honour to present the second sickening instalment of RuPaul's Drag Race UK Vs. The World.

"When queens of this calibre come together, something truly magical happens. I can't wait to share the international love with audiences in the UK and around the globe!”

Fiona Campbell, the controller at BBC Three, added:  "We're thrilled to announce the highly anticipated return of Drag Race UK versus The World for a second series on BBC Three!

"Get ready for more fierce competition, dazzling performances, and a celebration of drag excellence from queens around the globe. It's going to be an unforgettable journey that pushes the boundaries of creativity and charisma.

"Tune in for a season that promises to be bigger, bolder, and more fabulous than ever!"

RuPaul's Drag Race first launched in the US in 2011 and has produced over 15 seasons to date as well as their own Versus The World spin-off's.

The show landed in the UK in 2019 and has sot a variety of stars into the spotlight.

The Vivienne, Baga Chipz, Kitty Scott-Claus, Cheryl Hole and Krystal Versace have all gone on to enjoy hugely successful careers in the media and on TV.
