HOLLY Willoughby made an unexpected "return" to This Morning leaving viewers baffled.
The popular presenter, 42, who quit her plum daytime TV role in October, was back on screen on Wednesday.
Holly was joined by Craig Doyle, 53 - a popular stand-in host for axed This Morning anchor Phillip, 61, as they chatted to Broadway star Idina Menzel, 52.
The mum-of-three, in a pretty floral frock, quizzed the singer on the 10th anniversary of Frozen, as well as her role as Wicked's green witch, Elphaba.
Yet ITV viewers who were tuning in half-way through the episode - fronted live by Emma Willis, 47, and Rylan Clark, 35 - were left totally stunned by Holly's comeback.
One took to X to muse: "Just tuned in thought Holly left #thismorning."

Another mused: "Are they begging Holly to come back or what…" as one put: "Oh they have included her…"
One then clarified the situation and put: "Calm your t**s, guys, it's a compilation clip. Holly hasn't actually returned."
Earlier this year, Holly thanked her viewers as she shared an emotional statement revealing she had left the ITV show.
