EastEnders fans spot huge blunder in soap’s Christmas Day murder saying ‘how is the pub still open?’

A murder recently took place in the iconic pub and viewers have noticed a pattern.

KEANU Taylor was revealed as the Christmas Day murder victim earlier this week after an explosive trip to Albert Square.

However, some EastEnders fans are scratching their heads as they've realised how many tragic events have taken place in The Queen Vic.

Linda Carter (portrayed by Kellie Bright) went the extra mile when trying to protect her pal Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) from being choked to death by Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters).

In a shocking twist aired on Christmas Day on BBC One, the Vic landlady stabbed the hunk in the back, leaving him to die at the bottom of her own stairs.

This was after Denise Fox (Diane Parish) hit Nish Panesar (Navin Chowdhry) over the head with a glass bottle and the businessman was left at the front of the bar, with a desperate Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) trying to revive him and, eventually succeeding.

Many explosive confrontations have taken place in the iconic Walford pub, particularly on Christmas.

As witnessed by regular viewers of the London-based program Keanu's death reopened old wounds for Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) who murdered Archie Mitchell on the same day, in 2009.

But after so much turmoil, fans of the long-running show have begun to wonder how the Vic was able to remain open.

One fan took to X, formerly known as Twitter, expressing their disbelief by commenting: "The Queen Vic. Only pub that has no CCTV where people have regularly been murdered for about 35 years and still keeps its trading licence."

Many other viewers jumped in agreeing with the original poster as one of them penned in response: "I've been saying this for ages."

The statement then prompted another viewer to point out a discrepancy of their own, commenting: "And has been torched several times but still has affordable business and contents insurance."

"All soaps same. Also anyone injured end up immediately in hospital in their own private room. Not waiting for ambulance and in A&E for hours and hours. And everyone from street/village visit. All tills in shops etc 00.00. No matter what people buy", another soap watcher wrote.

But could Keanu's death and Nish's assault lead to Linda, her mother Elaine Peacock and her partner George Knight losing the pub altogether?

The crime scene was immediately cleared up by the Six following the heartthrob's demise as they all agreed to bury his body under Kathy Beale's café, which was destroyed by a fire.

However, history has shown that murders rarely stay underground forever, thus indicating that Keanu's body will be found sooner or later.

Keanu was well on the way to marry Sharon Watts but when his involvement in her son Albie's kidnapping was exposed by Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) at the same time the couple were exchanging their vows, things got out of hand.

Sharon told Keanu he wasn't even as a result and, despite the revelation, the hunk was ready to take the young boy away from her after finding Nish lying motionless in The Queen Vic.

After an exchange of harsh words, Keanu was heading up the Vic stairs to grab Albie, only to be stopped by Sharon who taunted him with the fact that Phil was the child's father after all.

Keanu was unable to contain his grief and anger, thus prompting him to lash out against Sharon by, as mentioned above, strangling her.

Linda, who not only stabbed Keanu but also shot him several years ago, has already been through a rough time due to the return of her rapist Dean Wicks to the Square and the disappearance of her beloved husband Mick Carter on Christmas Day in 2022.

How long will she be able to keep her secret?
