Big Brother star gives update after fleeing the UK – but fans beg him to be careful after ‘horror stories’
One fan insisted Matty's plans were "incredibly dangerous" before others begged the star to reconsider his trip
BIG Brother star Matty Simpson has issued an update to his fans after he fled the UK following his stint on the show but has been met with a stern warning from concerned followers.
The doctor, 25, rose to fame on the ITV2 revival series of the legendary show where he was brutally axed just 48 hours before the final in a brutal twist.
Just weeks after leaving the famous TV compound in London, Matty revealed that he was selling off all his belongings and escaping the UK in a drastic move alongside his boyfriend, Connor.
Now, the star has settled in the “jungle” of Costa Rica and has given an update on his next move.
Revealing that he was soon to be abandoned by his partner owing to work commitments, Matty confirmed that he would remain overseas by himself.
Writing at length on Instagram, he said: “Sorry I’ve been MIA since I got to Costa Rica… there’s not much Wi-Fi but thats kind of a good thing because it means I’m off my phone a lot more.
“I don’t start doctoring again until August, so from now until then I have no solid plans.
“I want to see as much of the world as I can in the next 8 months.
“Just me, myself, a boyfriend and a backpack.”
He then went onto state how he was planning to make his way from his current Costa Rican base all the way to Mexico City after Connor headed home for work.
The journey would see him travelling alone through Guatemala and Nicaragua to reach his end destination.
Matty continued: “Connor leaves to go back to work in 3 weeks so I’m gonna try to get from Costa Rica all the way to Mexico City by myself in three months. 2500km by bus/hitchiking/kindness of strangers/trains… let’s see what happens.
“Also let me know recommendations for Central America please.”
However, his followers were left seriously worried at the thought of the reality star hitch hiking as they warned him against the ‘dangerous’ move.
They were left begging the star to re-think his travel plans in order to keep himself safe.
One fan penned in concern: “Please please please do not hitchhiking- period but especially alone, it’s so unsafe.”
Another echoed: “Please don’t hitchhike, be safe. It can be so dangerous there especially if you’re alone. I see too many horror stories about it. Please.”
A third continued to beg for Matty to “please” listen to them as they said: “Sounds like you’re having the best time… please be safe hitchhiking as I hear too many horror stories.”
Before a fourth said bluntly: “This is so incredibly dangerous.”
