BBC Breakfast’s Carol Kirkwood floors Charlie and Naga with ‘absolute nightmare’ confession from wild teen years
BBC weather presenter Carol Kirkwood left Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty absolutely flawed when she admitted she was an “absolute nightmare” as a teenager.
The former wild child and beloved weather presenter made the shocking confession on BBC Breakfast this morning after guest co-present Mike Bushell made a joke about how she was probably studying hard when she was 16-years-old.
On this morning’s instalment of BBC Breakfast, Charlie, 61, Naga, 48, and Mike, 58, congregated on the red sofa to interview 16-year-old darts prodigy Luke Littler.
The BBC presenters were very impressed with Luke’s attitude and commitment to darts, but Mike couldn’t help comparing the sports star to himself when he was the same age.
Mike admitted he was nowhere near as focused as Luke.
“I shake with horror when I think of myself at 16,” the reporter admitted.

Impressed, Naga replied: “Well, he’s focused, and he’s reaping the rewards and it seems like he’s enjoying it, which is great.”
Mike then joked that one of their co-stars was probably the same way. “I know somebody who was doing the weather when she was 16,” he said before asking Charlie and Naga their opinions, adding, “Do you reckon?”
“Do you reckon? Carol? Ask her then!” Naga replied, turning the attention to Carol, 63, who was reporting live from a reindeer farm in the Cotswolds.
But when Mike asked Carol about her teenage years, he didn’t get the response he was expecting.
“What were you like as a 16-year-old Carol?” Mike asked.
Laughing, Carol replied: “A nightmare Mike. An absolute nightmare.
“And I’m sure my mum would certainly agree with that one,” she added.
Everyone in the studio and viewers at home were left shocked by Carol’s admission of her wild teenage years.
But it seemed that was all the weather presenter was willing to share as she swiftly moved on to introducing the next segment at the reindeer farm.
