The U.K. has been experiencing severe weather conditions this week as Storm Pia is responsible for 80mph winds across the country.

A yellow weather warning was in place for most of the country on Thursday when journalist Gabriel Morris was out reporting on traffic news for Kent’s local news programme, KMTV.

KMTV works in partnership with The University of Kent and reports on breaking news, sport and entertainment for Maidstone, Medway, Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and surrounding areas.

Gabriel was out in the blustery conditions, reporting live on the unexpected strike from French Eurotunnel staff.

“It means that trains are not able to travel through the Eurotunnel,” the reporter explained.

But as he was giving his report, a forceful gust of wind came his way, knocking the camera to the ground.

Gabriel could briefly be seen diving to save the camera before the report quickly cut to scenes of the standstill traffic waiting to travel through the Eurotunnel.

However, he continued to voice the report, saying: “Now it is very windy, as you can see, that [gust] actually just nearly blew the camera over.”

Sharing the clip on X, formerly Twitter, a TV critic said the report “turns a bit Blair Witch Project all of a sudden.”

“What a scary scene!” another viewer commented on the video.

However, thankfully, it had a happy ending, as Gabriel was able to save the camera and continue his report.

After the clip was shared online, KMTV commented: “What a catch! Watch the moment our reporter saves his camera from being blown over. Live on air!”
