Susanna Reid fans demand huge shake-up after GMB star swaps channels in surprise move

It came after the telly favourite bid 'goodbye' to GMB this week

SUSANNA Reid fans have demanded a major show shake-up after the ITV host switched channels in a surprise move.

The Good Morning Britain anchor, 53, was hailed a "boss" for her straight-talking comments on BBC show Sunday With Laura Kuenssberg - just days after she waved "goodbye" to her ITV show.

Viewers of the weekly politics show, which airs on BBC One, were stunned to see the ITV breakfast anchor on the panel.

Susanna, who used to work for the broadcaster in her role as BBC Breakfast host, addressed issues including Michelle Mone's role in a £200million PPE scandal and the Strictly Come Dancing live final.

Many believed Susanna, who sat on the panel with Robert Buckland MP, 55, and Scottish actor Brian Cox, 77, should be a permanent fixture.

They took to X, formerly known as Twitter, in their droves to comment, with one writing: "Susanna Reid should be on #bbclaurak every week!"

Another put: "Love Susanna Reid," as a third continued: "The broadcaster must pull out all the stops to get Susanna back on the channel."

One then added: "Susanna Reid has been a breathe of fresh air on #BBCLauraK this week, she’s not afraid by any means to highlight what is going on. Ps that blue blouse is fab that she’s wearing and I want one for work."

A fan then put: ";Susanna should just claim Laura’s job she’d do much better," as one cheered: "Goonnnnn Susanna!"

They were also quick to pick up on Susanna calling out bra tycoon Baroness Mone during her interview with show host Laura.

The National Crime Agency has been investigating Michelle Mone and Doug Barrowman's role in the PPE Medpro scandal since May 2021.

After the pair joined Laura for a candid sit-down chat, Susanna remarked: "I find it absolutely remarkable and why she hasn’t been transparent until this point.

"We remember being on air and how desperate care homes and hospitals were for PPE when people were losing lives."

Susanna continued: "I think it’s utterly remarkable that she doesn’t see how sensitive this issue is for people…"

This prompted another viewer to write: "Susanna Reid is boss and should have interviewed Michelle Mone."

One then added: "Susanna Reid perfectly summarising the Mone interview."

Meanwhile, earlier this week, Susanna revealed it was her final ITV show on Wednesday, where she was accompanied by regular co-host Ed Balls, 56.

Yet Good Morning Britain's early-morning fans needed not fear, as the mum-of-three was merely taking time off for her annual Christmas break.

Susanna wished viewers a ";huge Happy Christmas" shortly before the episode wrapped.

She spoke straight to the camera as she said: "I would just like to say a huge Happy Christmas to you all.

"Thank you so much for watching this year.

"Of course, Good Morning Britain is back all the way up to and including Christmas and the New Year.

"But we are now off and we will see you in January."

Ed then gave a wave to the camera as he added: "I will see you in January too."

It remains to be seen who will stand in for the stars during the festive period.

Recently, we also revealed how GMB fans were left stunned when Susanna revealed her "real age."
