The Trust: A Game of Greed will see 11 people compete for a share $250,000
But they'll be offered opportunities to best the competition and take more money for themselves

Hosted by former CNN journalist and TV personality Brooke Baldwin, A Game of Greed will premiere on Netflix in January.

The U.S. game show features a group of 11 contestants eager to get their hands on $250,000 and they can either band together to each come away with a piece of the prize money, or go it alone and hope to take it all.

In the trailer, Brooke explains the premise of the series. She says: “This is a trust. It promises each of you an equal share of a quarter million dollars.

“Throughout your time here, you’ll each make a choice; share the money equally or vote people off to keep more for yourself.

“You’re already winners, but the question is, will you keep it that way?”

With twists and turns around every corner, this show encourages the contestants to sabotage each other and offers them chances to get ahead.

The trailer, which was released on 10 December, confirms that the players will turn on each other.

Along with the dramatic trailer, Netflix added a caption, teasing: “You never know who’s telling the truth.

“If you loved Squid Game: The Challenge, TRUST me this will be your next reality competition obsession.”

Game show fans have been in an excited frenzy since viewing the trailer.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one said: “Ok Netflix, you got my attention with The Trust. This looks evilly delicious.”

Another commented: “Oooo, this looks good! Can’t wait.”

“Squid Game is fantastic, and I’ll watch The Trust. Can’t wait," added a third.

“Right up my street, CAN’T WAIT!!” a fourth said.

Excited game show fans couldn’t help but notice the similarity between A Game of Greed and The Traitors, which premiered last year.

The Traitors follows 22 contestants battling to win £120,000 in a castle in the Scottish Highlands.

However, as usual, there’s a twist. Three members of the group are traitors, whose job it is to ‘murder’ a player every night without getting caught.

The other players, known as the ‘Faithfuls,’ are tasked with identifying the traitors before they fall victim to them themselves.

January will be a doubly exciting time for game show fans, as A Game of Greed is coming to Netflix on 10 January and the second season of The Traitors is set to premiere just days earlier.
