Lorraine Kelly traumatised after dog poisoned and rushed to vet as star issues warning
LORRAINE Kelly was left traumatised after her dog was poisoned and rushed to the vet.
The bubbly host, 64, wasn't her usual cheerful self after mini wire-haired dachshund Ruby scoffed down chocolate from the star's bag.
The sweet treat contains a chemical called theobromine and can be deadly if put away by unsuspecting pooches.
Telly fave Lorraine admitted the experience was "very scary" and issued an urgent warning to pet owners over the festive period.
The ITV host shared a heartbreaking picture of her four-legged friend who was hooked up to a drip after being rushed to the vet.
Lorraine wrote: "This was our Ruby yesterday after eating chocolate wrapped up in my bag.
"She was very poorly and I was a wreck! Please make sure your beloved puppies and dogs don’t eat chocolate or mince pies over Christmas because it can be life-threatening.
"Ruby was on a drip and it was very very scary.
"She’s totally fine now but I don’t want any other little animal or their human to go through such a trauma."
Worried fans on Instagram were quick to send Lorraine a flood of lovely messages.
