Politicians face I’m A Celebrity ban after Nigel Farage clashed with show bosses over trials and nude scenes

NIGEL Farage yesterday jetted home from Australia, leaving I’m A Celebrity crew to “think twice” about casting another politician after the Brexiteer rounded on ITV.

He yesterday accused the broadcaster of “unpleasantries” after clashing with show bosses over trials, his nude showering and derogatory comments made by channel boss Kevin Lygo.

While he said he had no qualms about his treatment by crew, the ex-Ukip boss, 59, added: “I would suggest, Mr Lygo, that I am prepared to ignore your rude, one-handed gestures, the rude pathetic attempts from your staff to stitch me up.

“If you really want to go to war with me, I don’t think it would do ITV share prices a lot of good.”

Nigel, 59, came third to runner-up Tony Bellew, 41, and winner Sam Thompson, 31.

Now show crew have cast doubt over whether the channel will ever cast a Westminster-type again.

A source told The Sun: “I’m A Celeb has always always cast divisive characters but now we think it’ll be a case of thinking twice.

“Nigel’s MO is all about making it seem like the establishment is against him but no one expected it to become that hand that fed him.

“This is the problem with having politicians on; they are usually in it to further their political standing.

“Never say never but it sounds like it has cast doubt high-up on having another politician on.”

Host Declan Donelly agrees, and declared the programme needed “a year without any politicians”.

Chatting on Jungle Club during the series, Ant added: “Agreed! Agreed."

And Dec then said: "Let's put that motion through shall we?"

Bosses have acted on some of the Geordie duo’s ideas in the past.

An ITV spokesman said: “I’m A Celebrity has always featured a diverse cast from all areas of public life and has a history of featuring political figures throughout its 23 series on air.

"There are no plans for this to change when the series returns to screens next year.”
