I’m A Celeb star Josie Gibson ‘mum-shamed’ after admitting she missed her son in the jungle

JOSIE Gibson has been cruelly mum-shamed after she struggled being apart from her son while taking part in I'm A Celebrity.

The This Morning star was finally reunited with Reggie, five, after finishing in fourth place.

The youngster jetted to Australia to greet his mum when she walked over the famous treetop bridge and left the set.

But some viewers took issue with single mum Josie lamenting her only child's temporary absence from her life.

One sniped: "During covid people didn’t get to see family or anyone for such a long time and they complain about being away from family for a month and being paid an enormous amount of money…"

Another said: "Oh god give me strength, enjoy the money love with your son."

A third said: "Are they allowed to take kids out of school to travel abroad for this show? It's not half term yet. Do they pay the fine or is it exceptional circumstances? Just wondering."

But many more were delighted to see the pair reunited after a month apart.

As Josie gave her son a big hug moments after leaving camp, one wrote on Instagram: "Aww look how happy he is to have his mam back."

Another said: "This made me cry, gutted you were not in the final three."

After being voted out, Josie, 38, returned to the celebs’ five-star hotel and hugged her co-stars including ex-EastEnder Danielle Harold and jockey Frankie Dettori.

Reggie was then seen running towards Josie from the car and grabbing her leg to give her a cuddle.

Josie was elated after being told she was leaving camp and said: “I get to see my little boy!”

In her final days in camp, Josie sobbed about being away from Reggie.

She told Danielle Harold: "I just miss my little boy. I shouldn't have ever left him this long."

The actress reassured her: "100 percent you should. You're showing him that you're a strong mum, strong woman. So proud of you babe."

She continued: "I hate seeing you upset. You're the best mum."

Josie made her way to the Bush Telegraph and vowed it'd be the first and last tiem she spent this much time away from him.

She said: "Just had a little wobble. You just feel very guilty. I'll never leave him this long again, ever."
