AFTER more than three weeks away from each other with no contact, it should have been an emotional reunion.
But I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here viewers were left cringing at Nigel Farage's reunion with his girlfriend, Laure Ferrari, last night.
After finishing in third place, Nigel walked across the bridge into the arms of his partner.
The French politician and Nigel - who have been dating for six years - have always kept their relationship out of the public eye, so this was a first for them.
She gave him a hug and a quick peck on the cheek after he walked across the bridge.
And fans joked their embrace was lacking the usual level of love and affection expected from such a moment.

"Nigel's wife couldn't have got away from him quick enough then," one wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Another joked that he "pushed her out the way" so she "didn't ruin his moment".
In fact, there was more emotion between winner Sam Thompson and his best mate Pete Wicks when they saw each other again.
Now body language expert Judi James has revealed there were a few different reasons for their “oddly formal” meeting.

‘More about his ratings’
Judi notes that while “Nigel might have bared all in the jungle, he fought shy of baring any emotions” during his reunion with Laure.
She adds: “These greeting rituals are usually passionate and romantic.
“Having been parted from their loved ones for a three-week endurance trial, there are often tears, kisses and tender, clinging hugs.
“When Nigel greeted Laure though his ritual was more like the kind of awkward air-kiss you might plant on a colleague at work.”
While viewers saw Laure whisper something into Nigel’s ear, Judi suspects it wasn’t sweet nothings.
She says: “Laure looked more like his PA, running up to whisper vital messages in his ear that, judging from his facial expression and his wary glance at the cameras, were more about his ratings and political polling than a declaration of love.”
Smile faded away
Judi claims Nigel - who was one of the favourites to win the show, according to - was feeling very upbeat and relaxed as he walked along the bridge.
But his whole demeanour changed as soon as he saw his girlfriend.
“He was grinning walking over the bridge and he stopped and stood to attention with his hat in one hand as he spotted Laure,” she says.
“His ‘hello’ came with a small laugh but as she leaned in and wound one arm around his neck, he bent forward to keep space between their torsos, keeping his eyes on the cameras as his face loomed over her shoulder.”
‘More awkward than Bushtucker trial’
According to Judi, Nigel’s formality was a huge giveaway that he’d have rather been doing another Bushtucker trial than be interacting with his girlfriend in public.
She continues: “Nigel performed some small, speedy finger-pats as they air-kissed politely.

“These started quickly after contact and patting during a hug is usually a signal to break.
“With the cool-looking air kiss over, Laure turned and flashed a big warm smile at the cameras but their chemistry together during this reunion air-kiss was polite and oddly formal, with Nigel looking more awkward than he had been doing any of the jungle trials.”
