Now it's the turn of her fellow Loose Women panelist Janet, 76, to be targeted by a cruel prank.

It came after someone posted a death hoax on X/Twitter claiming the broadcaster was dead, causing concern from fans.

The troll posted: "Absolutely shocked by the passing of Janet Street-Porter. I cannot believe it !!??

"Always a Loose Women favourite, she would’ve turned 86 this December. RIP Janet. She was only on the show last week."

Disgruntled fans immediately replied to the hoax, with one saying: "Janet Street Porter is not dead.

"This account has a history of creating false death reports for celebrities - they falsely claimed last week that Denise Welch had died."

While this fan fumed: "Not this again!"

Janet is yet to respond to the cruel hoax.

Just last week, her colleague Denise took to social media after her Wikipedia page was updated to claim she'd been involved in a bizarre accident with Big Brother stars Kerry Riches and Farida Khalifa.

A now-deleted paragraph read: "Denise Welch sadly was killed after being ran over by Kerry Riches' mobility scooter after it was hijacked in a drunken rampage by Farida Khalifa, hair and make up artist for the traveller and gypsy community."

But Loose Women star Denise hit back, saying: "I'm alive and well and about to watch the jungle. Thanks for your concern."

Janet started her television career at London Weekend Television in 1975, first as a presenter of a series of mainly youth-oriented programmes.

However, her TV career has moved on massively since then, and she has become a very familiar face on the box.

Janet's competitive nature has been brought out on several reality shows, as she finished I'm A Celebrity in fourth place (2004).

In 2011, it was announced that Janet had joined Loose Women as a panellist.

She is known on the show for her no-nonsense attitude and straight talking opinions.

Unlike some of the other panel members, Janet has been consistent on the show since she joined the ITV lunchtime show.
