I am not mean, insists I’m A Celeb’s Fred Sirieix as he hits back at claims he bullied Josie Gibson
The First Dates star also said their budding friendship was not shown on screen
FRED Sirieix hit back yesterday at claims he bullied I’m A Celeb campmate Josie Gibson, insisting: “I am not sexist and I am not mean.”
He was given a roasting on social media after repeatedly speaking to her about her cooking, joking: “It’s like a horror movie from the ’80s.”
And This Morning star Josie admitted: “I like Fred, but it’s not very nice being told what you’ve done isn’t good enough.”
Speaking from the Marriott Hotel in Queensland after being evicted, the Frenchman conceded: “I am going to get a b*llocking from my mum.
“I am not looking forward to it but there is nothing I can do.
“It wasn’t meant in an offending way or a bad way or in a sexist way — I want to emphasise that.
“I am not sexist and I am not mean.
“In hindsight, I should have just let her get on with it. I should have just sat back. I think she is a lovely girl.”
He said their budding friendship was not shown on screen.
Asked if he would apologise to Josie, First Dates star Fred said: “If she was offended, of course I will apologise.”
Fred — who had an emotional reunion with his fiancée, known as Fruitcake — also had a falling out with YouTuber Nella Rose.
He made a comment about being old enough to be her dad, which Nella said offended her because her father had died three years ago.
Fred insisted: “I saw her when I came out and we had a hug. Nella is a great girl.”
