I'M A Celeb fans have their theories about why Nigel Farage was so upset to miss the most recent Bushtucker Trial.

The politician volunteered to participate in the challenge, which involved answering questions about animal facts while being accosted by insects, but was turned down.

He moped around the camp after the three nominees headed off to do battle with the wild creatures to earn some needed stars.

Nigel said in a confessional that he wanted to go to help out his campmates, because he is older and not physically strong enough to compete in some of the more difficult trials.

But viewers have a slightly different opinion on the matter.

Several fans of the ITV show took to social media to voice their perspective, which was that he was only upset to be missing out on screen time.

One person hit out: "Didn’t get the coverage of doing a trial so he goes around the camp complaining to get coverage. We see through you Farage! Desperate."

Another joked: "It must be tough to pretend you really want to do a trial, but not so much that you actually get picked to do it."

A third wrote: "Farage wants his 25% viewing time, let him do it."

Someone else agreed: "Nigel is once again losing his 25% of airtime."

The former UKIP leader has previously also come under fire for stripping off on I'm A Celeb, with a spate of viewers saying they would complain to Ofcom after the latest incident.
