NELLA Rose has broken her silence over her ruckus with Fred – where she became upset over a comment he made about being like her dad.
The YouTube star, who was the youngest contestant in this series, said she found the remark upsetting because her father had died – and she had told Fred that not long before he made the ill-timed comment.
Nella, 26, said: “I do feel like my emotions were heightened because we were in such an enclosed environment.”
She added: “Fred isn’t a bad person, neither am I, we just got into a very heated back and forth where my triggers were triggered.
“Any dad joke is very triggering for me as my dad was my best friend and I lost him quite recently in 2020.
“I don’t deal well with dad jokes and I take them to heart. But we blessed it over. Me and Fred are cool.”

The social media star also opened up about the speculation that producers told her about the negative reaction to the argument.
Nella said: "Producers didn’t tell me a thing. It’s just life in camp.
"You’re all alone, just together in there. As time goes by you bless things over."
Recalling her time in camp, Nella, who was the second star to leave, said: “I had such an amazing time in there and I guess my time came to an end when it should have.

“I don’t regret anything. I feel like I had such an amazing time and I learnt a lot about myself and I faced a lot - maybe too many - of my fears. I’ve come out a strong woman, so I’m happy.”
Their row played out at the beginning of the series (Tuesday 21 November).
At the start of the episode, Fred tried to offer Nella some breakfast, but she ignored him.
Nella then explained in the Bush Telegraph: "Last night after dinner Fred made a comment about him basically how he could be my dad.
"I took offence to that because one of the first conversations we had together was me opening up about the fact that my dad’s passed away.
"I didn’t say anything about it last night because I was kind of just annoyed about it."
She added: "So I slept on it and I kind of thought about it and I was just like, this is not the kind of person I want to be around."
Nella's dad Kamango Paul Hollela passed away in 2020.
Fred then approached Nella and asked her what was wrong - and she explained that the comment offended and upset her.
The First Dates star apologised and said: "I am so sorry. Can I just say? First of all, I am sorry I’ve offended you. I am unaware that you felt offended.
"I am unaware that what I said would lead to this conversation, I only said that in a way because I am older than you, I am 51 and you’re 26."
Nella then said that she didn't want any of the food that he cooked for the camp, and that they should stay away from each other.

But as the weeks went on, the pair managed to make up.
Earlier this month some viewers shared their suspicious that producers 'stepped in' after a huge change in Nella following her clashes with Fred and Nigel Farage.
