Shock Coronation Street exit for fan favourite after five years
TIMES have changed for one familiar face in the cobbles as he makes the decision to have a fresh start in a new setting.
However, the Coronation Street favourite won't be alone as he bows out alongside his new love interest.
Actor Ryan Prescott is due to leave the ITV soap in upcoming scenes as he waves goodbye to his Corrie alter ego Ryan Connor.
While Ryan has been a part of life in Weatherfield since his first arrival in 2006, the soap star has only been portraying him since 2018 after he took over the role from Sol Heras and Ben Thompson.
Coming up, Debbie Webster (played by Sue Devaney) is shocked when Crystal Hyde (Erin Austen) reveals she and Ryan are moving away to Glasgow.
In later scenes, an emotional Carla Connor (Alison King) - who took him in as an auntie figure due to her close friendship with his mother Michelle Connor - and Debbie wave Ryan off as he leaves for Glasgow.

Meanwhile, Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) watches sadly as his taxi disappears from view.
Could she go after him?
Ryan's departure may come as a surprise for many viewers of the Manchester-based program due to the character's illicit romance with Daisy.
Regular Corrie viewers will remember that both Daisy and Ryan bonded after being targeted by vile stalker Justin Rutherford in the midst of a horrific acid attack.

Although Daisy was meant to be harmed, Ryan managed to save her by standing in Justin's way but this resulted in him sustaining huge burns from the attack and having to undergo multiple skin grafts.
The experience pushed Ryan and Daisy together, leaving her relationship with Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) on the backburner.
And when Crystal decided she wanted nothing to do with Ryan due to his predicament which prevented him from taking on a new job opportunity, she rushed out of the cobbles and fled to Ibiza without him.
Daisy went above and beyond to help Ryan build his confidence back up and went as far as to catfish him, posing as Crystal through messages before being caught out.
The chemistry bubbled up, prompting Daisy and Ryan to kiss and, later on, drag each other to bed.

Following their tryst, the pair were hopeful to keep it all under wraps but hard feelings were reignited when Crystal came back to the Street with the intention of giving a romance with Ryan a chance.
Daniel eventually found out what had happened between Daisy and Ryan, leaving Crystal to decide whether she still wanted a future with the hunk.
Crystal decided to forgive and forget on the condition Ryan made a choice between her and a life around Daisy in Weatherfield.
