It will see the former Top Gear star travel across India in a whopping 3,000 mile journey.

James' journey will take him from coast-to-coast as he starts by the Arabian Sea and ends at Bay of Bengal.

Fans don't have long to wait to watch the series as James May: Our Man in India lands on Prime Video on January 5th.

His return to the platform comes after we exclusively revealed how The Grand Tour was coming to an end.

The show launched in 2016 after James and Richard Hammond left the Beeb alongside Jeremy Clarkson.

It quickly became a big hit and amassed a cult audience but all three men have felt the series has ran its course.

The streamer will consider potentially continuing the show further down the line with new hosts - an idea which the departing hosts are happy with.

A TV insider said: “It’s a surprising decision and everyone realises it very much marks the end of an era for the three presenters.

“The Grand Tour is one of Prime Video’s most watched shows and Jeremy, James and Richard have a devoted following.

“But the guys have made no bones about the fact they’re all advancing in years and they have lots of other projects to pursue.

“They just felt like the time was right and wanted to go out on a high when the show remained popular.”

Just like James, Jeremy Clarkson is remaining on Prime Video with the streamer confirming his farming series will be back.
