Tanya Bardsley slammed by fans as husband pins down giggling ‘potty mouth’ son, 7, and ‘washes mouth out with shampoo’

REAL Housewives of Cheshire star Tanya Bardsley has come under fire from fans after sharing a video of her teaching her “potty mouth” son to stop swearing.

The 42-year-old posted a video of her husband – former footballer Phil – pinning down their seven-year-old son and pretending to pour shampoo in his mouth.

Tanya told her followers: “Going back to old school treatment because nothing else has worked for our little potty mouth ralphi doodle @phil_bardsley #washyourmouthoutwithsoap he told his brother to f**k off.”

In the video, Ralphi is seen rolling around on the floor laughing while Burnley player Phil sits on top of him and someone puts the bottle of Pantene near his mouth.

Both Tanya and Phil can be heard laughing, with Tanya saying: “You won’t swear again.”

The clip sparked hundreds of comments from concerned followers, with one person writing: “Am I the only one who finds a grown man pinning down a child on a hard floor and pouring chemicals into his mouth disturbing and abusive no matter how much he swears!!!”

A second person said: “Everyone literally confessing to putting chemicals in kids mouths like thats normal and not abuse …sad really as they pick it up from.

“Adults that do know better then kids that copy …just my opinion before anyone comes for me I have 3 kids 2 adults now and never put anything in them that would harm them.”

And a third commented: “It’s not funny to post a video joking about child abuse (because people that do really do that are abusive) and then call people who thought you were doing that names etc. Look at the people who have related saying they do really do it/did it.

“I can’t believe I’ve saw this and your responses condoning it 😢 you just don’t expect this from someone who *appears* to be far on a personal development journey, life coaching and spiritual etc.”

Tanya defended her decision to film the clip and insisted: “No kids were harmed in the making of this video for the warpped Karen’s in the comments no shampoo was put in his mouth and ralphi was just laughing ffs honestly the world so serious and thrive on being offended and judging these days.”

Others rushed to support her, with one fan commenting: “I know you wouldn’t hurt your children. I actually laughed that he said eff off.”

Someone else wrote: “Are we not watching the same video? The snowflakes on here seriously!

“The boy is laughing it’s obviously family fun. Instead of judging others on here maybe go spend some quality time with your own.”

“Eeee my god people ( who are moaning ) it’s a bit of fun you can hear Ralphi laughing ,if it had been serious he wud b screaming ,I remember my parents saying I will wash yr mouth out with soap,” added a further fan.

Tanya and husband Phil are parents to Gabriella, Rocco, Ralphi and Renz.

Tanya is best known for staring on Real Housewives of Cheshire for six years before quitting in 2021.

She went on to make a documentary about living with ADHD after she was diagnosed.
