The YouTube star, 26, finally got her long-awaited revenge on Fred Sirieix in last night's show, when she was chosen as the camp leader, with Danielle Harold as her deputy.

She swiftly assigned Fred and Nigel Farage the task of cleaning and washing up.

Despite winning a secret camp ballot by three votes, some viewers were quick to say the outcome was "obvious" following claims that the show has been "fixed" in Nella's favour.

Geordie host Ant took the unusual step to hit back at accusations and said: "I saw a few people on social media say that it was obvious [that Nella was voted camp leader].

"No, it wasn’t. It was a complete blind vote which they’ve done down there, it was completely up to the campmates.

"Not up to anybody here in production.

"They obviously enjoy her in camp and think that she needs to be camp leader and we like it because it’s great for the show."

While co-host, Declan Donnelly, 48, added: "It’s great content."

It comes after the ITV show was forced to apologise after the official show account liked post slamming Nella.

Bosses scrambled to react when fans of the show spotted the official account had been ‘liking’ hate comments about the YouTuber

ITV rushed to delete the thread and begged fans to “be kind” in a statement posted online.

The statement read: “Yesterday we accidentally liked a comment on Instagram while scrolling down through viewer comments.  

“The post in question contained unacceptable language about one of our campmates and we apologise for the mistake made and any offence caused.  

“We seek to champion all our campmates and would always urge our audience to be kind when commenting on social media.”

The row began when a number of viewers noticed that the official I’m A Celebrity account, which has 1.6million followers on Instagram and 1.3m on Twitter, had ‘liked’ a mean comment about Nella made by a user underneath a post celebrating Sam Thompson’s revelations about his ADHD.

We have chosen to keep the account name private, but the insult read: “You know why, because Josie is a genuine person, Nelly jelly belly is just after publicity whatever.”

The thread has now been deleted but online users claimed there were other comments too - however none that The Sun has been able to verify. 

A second post said to have been liked by the account read: "I'm not a Nella fan but I have to agree with you, if that had been Nella there would be a riot on here... but not with Josie."

Of all this year’s cast, Nella Rose has attracted the most critique online.

After her now infamous ‘dad-gate’ row with Fred Sirieix, many have shared their opinions about the influencer who last week flung I’m A Celebrity into chaos after a tumultuous 24 hours which saw her quit camp in a medical emergency, flunk out her third  trial and attract a slew of Ofcom complaints. 

So far 861 viewers have complained about the row with Fred then 856 have flagged an exchange over race between Nigel Farage and Nella.
