ITV viewers convinced I’m A Celeb producers ‘stepped in’ after key Nella Rose scene wasn’t shown
Nella Rose told Josie Gibson that she and Fred Sirieix were friends
I’M A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here fans are convinced that producers were forced to defuse tensions in camp.
Nella Rose and Fred Sirieix clashed over a simple slip of the tongue, which resulted in Nella saying she didn’t want to speak to the First Dates star.
Fred joked that he was “old enough to be her dad” after discussing his poor eyesight.
Nella was upset as she had opened up to Fred about her father’s recent passing.
Furious with Fred, she said that she didn’t want to eat any of the food he made in camp.
Fred was apologetic but also clearly bemused by the drama. In a bid to smooth things over, he joined Nella on a basketball-themed challenge.
Nella joked that Fred had the skills of Kobe Bryant and LeBron James – which at the time didn’t go unnoticed by fans who said that she had changed her tune very quickly.
Then as the Snake Rock camp Away Team merged with the main camp Home Team again this weekend, Nella said she was “friends” with Fred again.
Josie asked Nella: “Are you and Fred friends yet?” to which Nella replied “yeah, yeah, yeah.”
“Oh good. I knew you’d iron it out. I bet you get on really well now. I knew that would happen,” Josie said.
However, their reconciliation wasn’t shown, leading viewers to speculate.
“The way the producers gave Nella & Fred’s dispute so much airtime but didn’t show them make up… I wonder why?” one wrote.
“The producers deffo had a word with Nella. She’s had a personality change,” said a second.
“I think that Fred and Nella must’ve made up a while ago and it’s not been shown,” wrote a third.
Influencer Nella, who has seen her follower count skyrocket since joining the show, has also found herself at the centre of a “sexism” row.
She was slammed for “discriminatory” comments about men during a conversation with Josie.
Nella praised her male counterparts for getting the firewood and doing heavy lifting around the camp.
She remarked: “So the men are supposed to go out, hunt, get the wood, make the fire, whilst the women keep the vibes.”
“Yeah,” Josie agreed, while the pair dissolved into laughter.
“That’s how it should be,” Nella added. “The suffragettes were fighting for this.”
“It’s given me faith in men again,” weighed in Josie.
Nella then added: “Imagine if it was a bunch of men my age, they would be like ‘Why are we the only ones getting the wood bruv?’ These are real men. Men, real men. The Hercules kind.”
Nella was then shown chatting in the bush telegraph, where she said: “This camp has 100% restored my faith in men. Mmm, macho men. Wow. They even cook. Hunter gatherers. The women are just…we are just here to bear children at this point. That’s it, I love it here.”
While Nella laughed as she was talking, suggesting her comments may have been tongue in cheek, many on social media were not impressed and pointed out how such remarks would go down if they came from a man.
One fumed on X, formerly twitter: “Imagine if guys were saying that – the girls should be cooking, they would be branded sexist and probably cancelled.”
A second added: “Is Nella making a sexist comment? Add that to the list of annoying and stupid stuff she’s done.”
A third ranted: “Imagine if one of the guys started saying the s*** Nella just said but about women. Everything she just said is sexist, ignorant and is the reason so many men struggle with opening up due to this ideal ‘macho man’. Disgusting.”
A fourth agreed: “Nella purely being sexist on national tv. If that was a man saying that….”
A fifth chimed in: “Nella is sexist. If the men had said that about women, she’d be so angry at them.”
And a sixth added: “I properly hate the sexism in the #ImACelebrity camp. Not painting women in a good light at all with all this bull****. “Real men” is a toxic idea too. Real men come in many forms.”
