Bake Off Final 2023 LIVE — Matty reveals he didn’t apply for show as he beats Dan and Josh to be season 14 winner
IT had been an exhilarating 10 weeks, but the field of hopefuls was reduced to only three bakers for the Great British Bake Off 2023 final.
Dan, Matty, and Josh were the three finalists vying for the title of Great British Bake Off 2023.
But Cambridgeshire-born Matty ultimately came out on top, impressing the judges with his kitchen skills.
He even revealed tonight that he didn't even apply for the show himself.
The PE and Science teacher has a lot to thank his girlfriend Laura for – as she filled out the application for him.

All about the prize at the end of the Bake Off
With all the drama, sweat and tears that the dedicated bakers go through on The Great British Bake Off, you’d expect they would be aiming for some grand cash prize, but the answer is no.

“But then, you also kind of become a national treasure just by doing it because everyone in Britain loves the Bake Off so much.”

“I never thought I would be on the show let alone win it.”
And his victory was endorsed by both judges Prue and Paul in the end, with the latter admitting he was blown away by Matty’s chocolate cake.
