Nick Pickard’s girlfriend reveals fears over I’m A Celeb trials and how he prepped for jungle in first chat about star

Nick Pickard’s girlfriend says she has begged their friends to vote him to take part in I’m A Celebrity’s Bushtucker Trials.

Landing at Brisbane airport on Tuesday, she told how she was thrilled the public were seeing Nick as well as just his Hollyoaks’ character Tony Hutchinson.

Sarah Corrin said: “I’ve still yet to see him do a bushtucker trial and all my friends and family are like what shall we do. And I say vote! Vote! And they’re like you’re not meant to vote him in and I’m like we are! I think he’d enjoy it!

“I think he’s definitely got a good chance of winning. I’ve heard a lot of people say we’ve not seen enough of him on the screen but, yeah, he is what he’s like in person - just genuinely down to earth.’

“I’m dead proud and I’m just glad people are getting to see the Nick part of him and not Tony.”

Before heading into camp Nick shared fears that he’d not be able to cope with the lack of food.

Sarah said: “He is the most positive upbeat person you'll ever meet but don’t mess with him and his food -  I haven't really seen that so far.

“When people are going off for the trials he’s like ‘Don’t worry if you don’t get all the stars’ but I know on the inside he’s like inside, ‘You have to get all the stars’

“His main concern was the hunger.

“I tried to prep him with the intermittent fasting - sandwiches from the fridge and the rest. I’m really surprised that he hasn’t been more about the food.

“I get blamed for the snoring in the house so that’s nice to know people have heard him snore.”

Nick is very quiet about his private life.

In 2001, he began dating his Hollyoaks co-star Joanna Taylor.

The pair met on the set of the soap, with Joanna starring as Geri Hudson at the time.

Nick and Joanna enjoyed a one-year romance before parting ways.

Joanna left Hollyoaks around the time they broke up and later went on to star in the BBC police drama Merseybeat.

They were married for 14 years and had two children before they separated.

He is in a long-term relationship with girlfriend Sarah Corrin and has shared several photographs of her on Instagram.

Nick is also a dad and has a 25-year-old daughter called Ellie from a previous relationship.
