Sky axes comedy series with huge stars in latest TV cull, confirms leading actress
SKY has axed a comedy show after just one series, it's leading actress has confirmed.
Katherine Ryan, who is best known for her stand-up comedy, revealed the news to The Sun.
The high-octane show, called Romantic Getaway, saw her couple up with Romesh Ranganathan on screen.
Both stars played husband and wife duo Alison and Deacon, desperate to have a child - and had amassed a large debt in their attempts at IVF.
With their relationship under strain, viewers watched as they turned to stealing to fund their dream.
The show opened as Alison and Deacon had just defrauded their boss, who was played by Johnny Vegas.

However, Sky bosses aren't giving the show another series next year.
Katherine, 40, told us: "I think Romesh is doing another series [on Sky].
"I mean Ramesh is only doing about 40 series but they're not bringing back Romantic Getaway for the moment anyway, maybe they will one day."
Speaking as she launched a festive TV-themed baubles competition with streamer NOW, Katherine revealed she's set her sights on being behind the camera.

She explained: "I feel like what I need to do next is write the next big hit Christmas romcom because we haven't had a female led romcom in a while that I have really loved."
Fans of the Canadian can still watch her stand-up comedy special Missus which is available on Sky Comedy.
