STRICTLY star Angela Scanlon has said her final goodbyes after being voted off the show on Sunday night.

TV host Angela became the tenth celeb out last night after she and pro Carlos Gu failed to win over the judges with their cha-cha-cha to Gloria Gaynor's I Will Survive.

Actor Layton Williams and pro Nikita Kuzmin were saved instead.

Angela took to Instagram on Monday afternoon and dedicated a lengthy post to Carlos and her co-stars.

She also hinted at her surprise at being axed - after fans claimed the result was rigged.

Angela said: "Over and out. What a wild ride it’s been, feels like it’s been cut a little short but maybe there’s a bigger plan.

"When I signed up to do Strictly I hoped I’d leave the show with an arse like Kim Kardashian & a few killer moves for family weddings.

"What I hadn’t anticipated (and maybe it’s still too early to really feel through the sobs) is how much growth there would really be (not just my glutes).

"To get out there every week in front of millions with no control, as a recovering perfectionist, was hard.

"To pick up every week and go again was hard. To receive feedback wasn’t always cute. To juggle and keep the show on the road while trying to nail a Paso Doble was hard."

Angela continued: "But… to dance every week was easy. To feel his belief and faith. To laugh. To pick each other up. To share food & ideas & vulnerability.

"To stand under the lights with this man’s arm around me, was easy.

"It feels somewhat premature & we had a lot more to give but to have met a soul that knows mine deeply, a heart that is as open, is an absolutely unexpected gift. I feel like the luckiest @gkx_carlos you are my favourite x

"I have so much more to say, and so many more people to thank (!) but right now I’m crying in an Epsom salt bath while eating a cinnamon swirl so you’ll have to wait for Part 2!"

In a surprising result the 39-year-old faced Bad Education star Layton, 29, in the dance-off after they both landed in the bottom following the judges’ scores and a public vote.

Judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke chose to save Williams and professional Nikita Kuzmin after they re-performed an American Smooth routine to It's Oh So Quiet by Bjork.

However, head judge Shirley Ballas opted for Angela and professional Carlos Gu's cha cha routine to I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor.

Shirley, known as the Queen of Latin, said: "Well important for me always when it comes to Ballroom and Latin is the character of the dance, that it's true to the dance, timing and quality and I would have voted for Angela and Carlos."

However, she did not have to put down her casting vote and Angela, who previously presented the rebooted Robot Wars with Irish comedian Dara O'Briain and hosts Your Home Made Perfect, was eliminated.

Fans were not happy, however, that either couple were in the bottom two.

Taking to X, formerly twitter, one fumed: "It's a fix. Did it last week. Put the strong contestant in the dance off so there's only one choice when it comes to saving them. The other couple are out."

A second added: "Layton in the dance off??? crazy."

And a third ranted: "Making Angela dance again, going through the motions, no real surprise the judges will save Layton. They are just fuming it wasn't Nigel in dance off with him so they could get rid of him, as the higher bookie favourite to him with viewers."

A fourth also chimed in: "Should be annabelle v nigel in this dance off."
