Coronation Street surprises fans as ITV soap reveals Audrey Roberts actress Sue Nicholls ‘real age’
SOAP fans were surprised to find out the real age of the actress behind Corrie character Audrey Roberts as the ITV show celebrated her birthday.
Coronation Street's official Instagram account made a special post for Sue Nicholls as she turned 80.
Soap bosses shared a series of snaps of the actress as she shared sweet moments with other cast members behind the scenes.
They even included one photo of Sue as a young woman when she first started off in the role of Audrey 44 years ago.
The montage was captioned: "Happy 80th Birthday to the wonderful Sue Nicholls! Lots of love from everyone at Coronation Street."
Fans flocked to the comments to share their best wishes and reminisce on all the years they've enjoyed seeing her on screen.

The long-time star previously revealed she was worried a new plotline with her evil son Stephen Reid would kill off her character for good.
When asked whether she thought Audrey’s life was at risk from the villain, Sue said: “Yes I did, I think we all thought that we could be at risk.
“Actually I still think that what has happened with Stephen could see Audrey off, we are all only on one year contracts so you never know.
“The aftermath of what happens this week and the confrontation with Stephen does have a profound effect on Audrey, she is a victim in many respects and how will she cope with that.”
