Coronation Street viewers baffled by Craig Tinker gaffe in ‘heartbreaking’ stop and search scene
CORONATION Street viewers have been left baffled by a gaffe they noticed during a stop and search scene on the show.
Viewers were horrified when Mason Radcliffe's bullying escalated to the point of pulling out a knife on another youngster in Weatherfield.
Police got involved after the heartbreaking scene where Mason threatened his victim Liam Connor with the weapon, after getting his cronies to dump rubbish on the lad and call him a rat.
Liam had attempted to stand up for himself during the incident, knocking Mason's phone out of his hand when he snapped pictures of him covered in trash, but that sadly led to the violent escalation.
The victim's younger brother reported the knife incident to cops and Craig Tinker went on to perform a stop and search on Mason.
But viewers couldn't help but wonder why Craig was still doing regular police rounds after having been promoted to the role of Detective Chief Inspector.

One confused fan queried: "Has DC Tinker been demoted back to PC then?"
Another had the same question, asking: "Is PC Tinker's secondment to CID over then?"
A third wondered: "Hang on is Tinker back on the beat?"
Someone else exclaimed in surprise: "PC Tinker’s back on the beat! I thought he was a detective now."
One person wrote: "So PC Tinker has been demoted."
Unfortunately Craig Tinker was unable to save the day, as vindictive Mason stashed his knife in Dylan's house before getting searched.
It remains to be seen what lengths the Corrie villain will go to in his bullying rampage against Liam before adults get involved.
