DINGO DOLLARS

I’m A Celebrity 2023 rich list reveals Nigel Farage’s impressive net worth and £1.4m star who left school with one GCSE

One star was homeless and living out of a suitcase just six years ago

THEY’RE being paid the big bucks for being tortured for three weeks in the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

But the £1.5 million that Nigel Farage is getting paid is small change for some of this year’s campmates.

The likes of Jamie Lynn Spears and Marvin Humes have earned millions over the years, through their career (or siblings).

And we reveal the I’m A Celeb rich list, which has some very surprising figures…

Jamie Lynn Spears - £4.8m

Unsurprisingly, Jamie Lynn Spears is the richest person in this year’s I’m A Celeb lineup, with an estimated £4.8million fortune.

However, that’s nothing compared to older sister Britney Spears’ £48million.

Jamie Lynn made her acting debut in Britney’s 2002 film Crossroads, age 11.

She went on to star as the title character in Nickelodeon show Zoey 101 from 2005 to 2008, until she became pregnant with her first child, Maddie.

In January 2022, four months after the end of Britney’s conservatorship, which Jamie Lynn claims to have had little part in, she released a memoir titled Things I Should Have Said, which would have added to her fortune.

This year, she has also taken part in the USA’s versions of Celebrity SAS and Strictly - Special Forces and Dancing With The Stars.

Jamie Lynn is also set to star in the movie version of Zoey 101, titled Zoey 102, next year.

Marvin Humes - £4m

Since Marvin shot to fame with JLS on the X Factor in 2008, the boy band have had five Top 4 albums, making them one of the show’s biggest success stories.

And Marvin’s own career has gone from strength to strength since - helped by marrying Saturdays singer Rochelle Humes in 2012.

The pair have presented many TV shows together in recent years, including The Hit List and This Morning.

Marvin also presented on Capital Radio alone for 10 years, until the end of last year.

Nick Pickard - £3.5m

He’s the Ian Beale of Hollyoaks, having played Tony Hutchinson on the Channel 4 soap since the show began in October 1995.

And Nick Pickard has reportedly earned a whopping £3.5 million during that time.

During his time in Hollyoaks, Nick’s character Tony has seen many storylines including multiple marriages, affairs, being taken hostage by a serial killer, and being stabbed.

In 2019, the Hollyoaks’ former boss Bryan Kirkwood promised viewers Tony would never be killed off.

Nigel Farage - £3.2m

Former UKIP leader Nigel Farage has been paid the most amount to go on I’m A Celeb of any campmate ever.

But he was already pretty wealthy, with a net worth of £3.2million.

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Nigel earned around $1million (£802k) from media appearances, largely on Fox News, between 2014 and 2018.

He also hosted The Nigel Farage Show on LBC from 2017 until 2020, and has fronted a show on GB News since June 2021.

Nigel's finances were put under the spotlight earlier this year when royal bank Coutts tried to close his account and controversial leaks suggested he fell below the 'wealth threshold' of £1million.

Alison Rose, CEO of the NatWest group who owns the bank, resigned over the scandal and Coutts were forced to apologise and reinstate his accounts.

Grace Dent - £3m

Grace Dent is most well known for being a regular TV food critic, on shows like Masterchef and Great British Menu.

But it’s most likely her writing that’s earned her her £3 million fortune.

Grace has written 11 novels for teenagers, with the rights for her third series, Diary of a Snob, acquired for TV by Nickelodeon in March 2011, although never developed.

Her memoir, Hungry, released in October 2020, was also very successful, winning the 2021 Lakeland Book of the Year.

Danielle Harold - £1.4m

Despite leaving school with one GCSE, Danielle Harold has had a very successful acting career.

She has earned £1.4million since playing Lola Pearce on EastEnders from 2013 until earlier this year, when her character died of a brain tumour.

Danielle’s career has been, in part, thanks to 2011 documentary Jamie's Dream School, fronted by Jamie Oliver, which saw 20 pupils being taught by a celebrity who specialises in each subject.

The actress impressed historian David Starkey so much that he tried to encourage her to head into higher education.

She later claimed the programme “changed my life” and gave her the confidence to believe in herself, leading to her trying out for Lola.

Danielle said: “They really thought I could do it [go to university]. But it wasn’t for me – acting was my calling. That’s when I landed the part of Lola. It was like a dream come true.”

Fred Siriex - Over £1m

Thanks to his career as a maître d' in posh hotels and restaurants, Fred Siriex has built up an empire of at least £1 million.

He ran a restaurant business with Spanish chef Jose Pizarro until 2019, when he resigned as director, and a customer service company The Art of Service Ltd which was wrapped up in 2018.

His coffers were boosted by fronting the hit Channel 4 show First Dates and his TV show with Gordon Ramsay and Gino D’ACampo.

While it’s not known how much he was paid for I’m A Celeb, it’s likely to have been a healthy pay cheque, as he insisted in July last year he wouldn’t go on the show, and wasn’t “interested in eating a camel’s anus”.

Sam Thompson - £1m

Sam Thompson has been on our screens since 2013, when he was cast in Made In Chelsea, but it’s not been until recently he’s been really making a big name for himself.

Most recently, he was reported to be worth £1 million.

But that’s definitely going to be a bigger number following the success of his hit podcast with Pete Wicks, as well as the official Love Island podcast and his Hits Radio show, both of which he started hosting earlier this year.

In this year alone, he's been on many holidays with his girlfriend Zara McDermott - who was on Strictly.

He’s also believed to have pocketed around £100,000 for his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother in 2017, so he would definitely have got a much bigger sum than that for I’m A Celeb.

Josie Gibson - £800k

When she won Channel 4’s final series of Big Brother in 2010, Josie Gibson won £100,000.

But she’s worth eight times that now, thanks to her continuous work on television.

Earlier this year, Josie would’ve been given her biggest pay cheque to date, when she became one of the main presenters on This Morning, alongside Holly Willoughby, following Phillip Schofieild’s departure.

Josie said of her promotion: "I’m completely honoured. Whenever I’m sitting there hosting the show, I often look around and think ‘how the hell did this happen to me?’"

Nella Rose - £100k

Arguably the least well-known of all the I’m A Celeb campmates this year, TikTok influencer Nella Rose is worth the least.

However, her £100,000 net worth is a far cry from where she was just six years ago, when she was evicted from her home and spent two years living out of a suitcase.

After her mother died unexpectedly in 2017, the council took back the family home from the teenager and her brother, leaving Nella to live at her accommodation in Leicester University or with friends.

She told her millions of fans on YouTube about her mother, explaining: “She died in my arms. It is the worst thing that has ever happened to me in my life.

“I was planning on using my student loan and my little YouTube money to pay the rent and bills.

“But then my brother and I get a letter telling us we had 30 days to move out. So I'm in my second year of uni, I'm dealing with my mum's death and now we're homeless.

“My uni room was my house or I was going on brand trips abroad in the holidays because I was running away from the fact I had nothing to call my own, nothing solid, I was escaping my problems.

'You all thought I was living my best life, but in reality, I was homeless, living out of a suitcase and hopping from bed to bed.”
