Strictly’s Janette Manrara fights back tears as daughter surprises her while she works on her 40th birthday
She was taken back by what her family and friends did for her
JANETTE Manrara marked a milestone birthday live on Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two on Thursday.
The Strictly star fought back tears as her baby daughter, Lyra, surprised her on the show for her 40th birthday.
Janette was about to present the segment on the Strictly star’s outfits alongside Vicky Gill when she was surprised with 40th celebrations.
The star was filled with joy as Bobby Brazier, Dianne Buswell, Nigel Harman and Katya Jones joined her in the studio with party hats as they marked her big day.
An impressive glitterball cake was rolled out on the trolley with a big ’40’ on it and an icing figure of Janette.
As Anne-Marie’s Birthday song started to play, an ecstatic Janette told the camera: “I finally got a glitterballl everybody!”
She was then shown a video from her family and friends, led by her husband Aljaž Škorjanec and their new baby daughter.
The father and daughter duo cuddled together in front of the camera, as Aljaz said: “Hello mummy, we want to wish you a Happy Birthday with lots of love and happiness.
“We’re so proud of you. You’re an amazing mum and beautiful wifey.
“40 has never looked better – sorry, I shouldn’t have said the age – and we can’t wait to have you home to give you a cuddle but go and smash the show and don’t forget… keep dancing!”
Baby Lyra looked adorable as she smiled at the camera with her dad as they were surrounded by balloons.
Janette was left emotional after the clip and hugged her guests as she said it was “the best way to spend her birthday – talking about Strictly and this cake! Thank you everybody!”
