Amy Dowden forced to pull out of Strictly comeback as she’s hit with another health issue after cancer battle
AMY Dowden has been forced to pull out of Strictly this weekend after breaking her foot.
The professional dancer was due to make a return to the show at the iconic Blackpool Ballroom on Saturday night after missing the series due to her cancer diagnosis.
Amy, 33, looked tearful in a photo on Instagram wearing a protective boot and admitted she hadn't been dealt the best cards this year, as she looked forward to 2024.
She said: "Not the week I was hoping for since finishing chemo. Port out but unfortunately gained a boot for a fractured foot.
"Absolutely gutted and heartbroken as this means the plans for me to dance in the Strictly Ballroom this year are no longer possible. This is what has kept me going the past few months.
"2023 is certainly not my year, roll on 2024 I say!

The Strictly pro was diagnosed with cancer in April shortly after her honeymoon and had just finished her last chemotherapy treatment.
Her followers quickly rallied around her and Strictly: It Takes Two star Janette Manrara replied: "Oh no! Well in that case 2024 could not be coming sooner!"
Strictly contestant Amanda Abbington wrote: "Sending you the most love!!! Rest up beautiful girl."
Amy underwent a mastectomy a month after her diagnosis, but was she told how doctors had found cancer elsewhere in her body.
The brave star started chemotherapy treatment and recently made the heart-wrenching decision to shave her hair.
In another shocking health update, Amy has revealed complications after a round of chemo nearly cost her her life.
Amy had developed an infectiom and went into septic shock - with her blood pressure so low her organs could've started to fail.
Despite being assured by her doctor that she had just been unlucky and picked up an infection prior to chemo, Amy had another hospital dash.
After her second round of chemo she developed clots which she said left her 'frightened' and has now been put on blood thinners.
Amy joined Strictly Come Dancing in 2017 and quickly became a fan-favourite.
Last year the dancer was paired with EastEnders star James Bye.
