Reboot of legendary film franchise back on track after shock Netflix axe as ‘rival streamer steps in to save movie’

Adam and Aaron Nee, the Lost City writers and directors, could write and direct the reboot, it's been reported.

A LEGENDARY film franchise that was axed by Netflix has now reportedly found a new home with a rival streamer.

The superhero movie series was cancelled in July by the streaming giant after it reportedly spent $30 million in development for it.

Now, according to it's said to have been picked up by Amazon.

Amazon MGM Studios is reportedly considering producing a live-action Masters of the Universe film.

Masters of the Universe, is a live-action movie based on He-Man and a series of other popular Mattel toys.

Adam and Aaron Nee, the writing and directing duo behind The Lost City are said to be creating the revived film.

According to several sources, it's been reported that conversations are underway with Amazon following the July release of a planned version of the Nee brothers' film on Netflix.

However another source warns that the Amazon talks are uncertain.

If the studio moves forward, it will need to strike new deals with the Nee brother's for script editing and directing.

Actor, Kyle Allen is said to still be playing the character, He-Man.

Netflix at the time decided to step away from Masters of the Universe when the tentpole's budget, which had been set at more than $200 million, could not be dropped down.

A young star of the 1980s cult He-Man movie Masters Of The Universe, now looks unrecognisable 25 years later.

Robert Duncan McNeill, now 57, shot to fame when he played the tousled-haired heart-throb Kevin Corrigan in the 1987 superhero film.
