BBC Breakfast shake-up as Naga Muchetty’s programme makes major change

BBC Breakfast underwent a hugely unexpected show shake-up this weekend.

Regular BBC One anchor Naga Munchetty, 48, fronted Saturday's episode with Charlie Stayt, 61.

Yet eagle-eyed BBC Breakfast fans spotted a major change as Naga bluntly announced the programme was cutting short, instead wrapping up at 9.15am.

This meant there was no time for her regular banter with Saturday Kitchen anchor Matt Tebbutt, 49, during which Naga often takes a cheeky swipe at the TV chef.

Last Saturday, Naga's show finished at 10am - so fans missed out on an extra 45 minutes of news.

Saturday Kitchen also flagged the change to viewers, and wrote on its X page: "Set your alarms!

"We’re on at the earlier time of 09.15am tomorrow and we’ve got a jam-packed show!"

The Lord Mayor's Show then follows at 10.45am.

One viewer was quick to call out the changes and wrote: "Nobody's mentioned that @lordmayors_show starts at 11.00am with 250, 000 expected on 'sacred' #ArmistaceDay with its whistles, bands, floats and dancing.

"Live on BBC1 at 10.45 with Scotty Mills (although #BBCBreakfast very quiet this am)"

Earlier this week, Naga "banned" her BBC Breakfast co-star from the studios after what fans dubbed a "weird" swipe about his outfit.

She also sat in on a cringe-worthy interview with ex Conservative MP Nadine Dorries, who was accused of "flirting" with her co-host Charlie.

She then shocked a huge BBC sports anchor after quizzing her on her "retirement."
