NETFLIX has announced the release date for a long-awaited upcoming anime spin-off movie from one of its most successful game show franchises.
Geeked Week has come with many surprises, including the latest film and show releases, but this latest announcement is the icing on the cake for many of the streamer's viewers.
Today, Netflix released the exclusive teaser trailer for the upcoming anime animated film The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep.
The Witcher fans will be delighted to finally learn that the new movie, based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s short story A Little Sacrifice, will hit screens globally in late 2024.
The new film follows Geralt of Rivia, a hired mutated monster hunter, investigating a series of vicious attacks in a small seaside village.
While on his mission, Geralt finds himself involved in a centuries-old war between humans and sirens.

He will need to reach out to his friends for help in solving the mystery before the hostilities between the two kingdoms escalate into a deadly disaster.
The man behind the iconic voice of the Witcher video games, Doug Cockle, will reprise his role and voice Geralt of Rivia.
He spoke about the upcoming spin-off and said: “I am super excited to announce my return to the world of the Witcher.
“Voicing Geralt of Rivia once again, but this time in the upcoming animated feature The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep. It’s been an honour to work with Studio Mir and Netflix on this new animated film.

Also included in the voice cast are Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra, who will be returning from the live-action The Witcher series to do the voice of Jaskier and Yennefer, with Christina Wren making her debut as the voice of Essi Daven.
The creators of The Legend of Korra and Netflix's Voltron: Legendary Defender Studio Mir Co., Ltd, a South Korean animation studio, are responsible for the upcoming animated movie.
The show was written by Mike Ostrowski, who is also an executive producer and Rae Benjamin, with Lauren Schmidt Hissrich as producer and Tomek Bagiński & Jarosław Sawko (Platige), Jason F Brown & Sean Daniel (Hivemind) as executive producers.
Kang Hei Chul is known for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf (2021), Lookism (2022), and Teen Titans GO! To the Movies (2018) directed the anime with Rae Benjamin as co-executive Producer and Andrzej Sapkowski as creative consultant.
The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep will air on Netflix in late 2014.
