Blockbuster movie hitting Netflix next month just in time for Christmas – and it’s perfect family viewing

Netflix's latest big-budget acquisition is just weeks away and bound to be a hit with kids and adults alike.

NETFLIX has announced that The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which surpassed $1 billion at the global box office, is landing on its platform in December.

The streamer's fans were delighted after they announced the news during its Geeked Week celebrations.

Christmas is coming, and Netflix just keeps on giving, so saddle up because Netflix has announced that The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be launched on the streaming service’s platform on December 3.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie was released in April this year and became the second-highest-grossing film of 2023 so far after the Barbie movie.

The streaming Giant took to X(Twitter) and posted a picture of different characters from the Super Mario Bros movie as they announced the news: “For the families that go a little too hard on Mario Kart over the holidays, The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be on Netflix to help the healing. December 3!”

Excited Netflix and movie fans replied to the post as on wrote: “Great, Mario on Netflix will also break many records. It is a very nice movie.”

The film was also on the streaming service Peacock this past August after its initial release.

Even though the news might be a shock to some fans, in 2021, Netflix and Universal made a deal so that films from Illumination and DreamWorks Animation would hit the streamer's platform after a four-month window on Peacock.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie will stream on Netflix from December 3.
