Emmerdale legend returns to TV for huge new role four years after soap axing and assault court battle
AN Emmerdale legend is returning to TV for a huge new role - four years after his soap axing and assault court battle.
Emmerdale actor Mark Jordon is set for a huge TV comeback after landing his first role in almost three years.
Mark, who played Daz Spencer on the ITV soap between 2014 - 2019, hasn’t really been seen on TV since his exit from the Dales in 2019.
The actor made a brief cameo in BBC medical drama Holby City before its axe in early 2021, but has mostly focused on theatre work in recent years.
But it seems fans don’t have long to wait until Mark is back on the small screen as he is set to appear in new ITV thriller The Long Shadow.
Mark will play a character named Ray Wood in the Eight-part series which focuses on the five-year manhunt for serial killer Peter Sutcliffe, who was commonly referred to as the Yorkshire Ripper.

Mark will appear in an episode due to air early next month.
The role comes more than four years after Mark - who is married to his former Emmerdale co-star Laura Norton - cleared his name following an assault charge in which he was accused of assaulting and biting a pensioner in a pub during his engagement celebrations in July 2018.
Following the allegations, Mark was written out of the soap by bosses and his final appearance aired in January 2019.
Mark is also well known to TV fans for his role as PC Phil Bellamy on long running ITV series Heartbeat.
