Netflix hadn't renewed the show - despite the ending of season two leaving too many cliffhangers to count.

The original sci-fi drama series created by Joaquín Górriz, and Guillermo López first aired in May 2022 and it took less than a year for the second season to be wrapped up.

Brutal Media, who produced the series managed to film the hit show on the incredible islands of Lanzarote, San Sebastián and Teruel.

Although after reportedly poor viewing figures the show was officially cancelled alongside Sky High: The Series and In Love All Over Again.

Despite the reasons being given the first season was seen as a huge success as it stayed in Netflix’s global top ten shows for five weeks.

Season two didn’t do as well and quickly fell out of the top 10 as soon as the series dropped.

A petition online has already seen 574 signatures on titled “Stop Netflix's cancelation spree and save Welcome to Eden”.

Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to plead with Netflix to bring back the fan favourite show.

One user said: “I’m NEVER forgiving Netflix for cancelling welcome to eden.”

While another wrote: “I didn’t binge watch welcome to eden on Netflix in a few days just for it to be CANCELLED.”

A third made her feelings clear towards the broadcaster saying: “It’s been months and I’m still mad at Netflix for cancelling welcome to Eden.”

Another fan commented: “Release Season 3 of Welcome to Eden! Please renew it at least give us one more season.”

The main reason for the fans being so outraged by the cancellation was because of how season two ended.

Cliffhanger after cliffhanger meant that a third and final season was almost a guarantee with fans desperate to see how the characters’ lives and relationships played out.

Recently, Netflix also cancelled the supernatural series Lockwood & Co. after just one season leaving fans fuming.

The show's creators said: "To the fans- to Lock Nation- you really have been the greatest. We cannot thank you enough for how much you have embraced, celebrated and loved the show."

Hard Cell saw was cancelled in June by Netflix despite having writer and creator Catherine Tate, 53, as the main star.
