Dancing on Ice star Amber Davies forced to hit back over backlash for taking time off theatre show
DANCING On Ice star Amber Davies has been forced to hit back over backlash for her taking time off her theatre show.
The actress, 27, is set to star as lead character Vivian Ward in the upcoming tour of Pretty Woman.
But Amber will miss a few tour stops due to filming commitments for the ITV skating competition.
The Love Island star will no longer be appearing in Aberdeen, Liverpool, or Hull, with West End star Elly Jay filling in for Amber for those stops.
Some fans were gutted that they had bought tickets to see Amber live on stage.
One wrote: "Don't understand why you signed up for the tour and Dancing on ice?"

This prompted Amber to respond, writing: "Just to put things into perspective. I’m taking four weeks off a 12 month tour.
"Also PS. Pre-contacted engagements happen all the time in this industry & I’m pretty sure in every other industry too."
She added: "When life gives you opportunities - TAKE THEM."
The show is based on the 1990's classic love story Pretty Woman, starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere.

It features original music and lyrics by Grammy Award-winner Bryan Adams and Jim Vallance .
Amber will star alongside Oliver Savile as Edward, with Ore Oduba playing Happy Man/ Mr Thompson and Natalie Paris as Kit De Luca.
The tour kicked off at Alexandra Theatre in Birmingham on October 17, before visiting Bristol, Glasgow, Woking, Leicester and Sheffield, and several other locations.
Since shooting to fame on Love Island in 2017, Amber has gone on to appear in various musicals including Bring It On, Back To The Future and 9 To 5.
Last month, The Sun exclusively revealed that Amber had signed up to Dancing on Ice.
It comes six years after Amber won the ITV2 dating show with Kem Cetinay - who competed on Dancing On Ice himself and made it to the semi-final back in 2018.
A show insider said: "Amber would be a real coup for the show - she's an amazing performer, so she's bound to be a natural on the ice and sure to be one to watch.
"After Love Island, she had to work really hard to be taken seriously on the stage and she proved any doubters wrong. Amber is a perfectionist, and used to putting in long hours rehearsing for the stage, so she'd definitely have her eye on the prize."
Appearing on the ITV's Lorraine last month, Amber said: "Today is the first day it feels real.
"I can't really ice skate, my secondary school went ice skating and I didn't go.
"I'm 27 and I'm still asking for permission from my parents."
The Love Island star said she's feeling the "nerves" ahead of the show but said she was thrilled to be taking part, six years after finding fame on the ITV2 dating show.

Amber said: "I would definitely say that I'm an adrenaline junkie but I do get more nervous as I get older and I hope that I can contain them, I don't want the Adrenalin to get the better of me."
She said: "I can count on one hand how many times I've ice skated."
