Coronation Street’s Simon Gregson faces having side-hustle business demolished after row with council
CORONATION Street star Simon Gregson and his wife Emma's business is at risk of being shut down.
The couple run a cafe at a garden centre in Cheshire but an argument over land could threaten the future of their business.
Morley Nurseries, which is the home of Simon and Emma's Tea Room, is set to be demolished after Cheshire East Council approved planning permission for new homes to be built on the land.
Furious over the decision, the Gregsons have been tirelessly campaigning against the proposals, gathering 188 objections to the building work.
Despite their hard work, the plans for four bungalows to be constructed have been given the green light.
However, one of the nursery managers updated customers on their Facebook page and said that the garden centre is "not closing in the foreseeable future".

She explained that they have been trying for nearly four years to get a new lease from their landlord, and this has been going on alongside the planning application.
The soap star's wife took over the quaint cafe in October last year after having a lifelong dream of running her own tea shop.
Speaking to , Simon said: "Sometimes when we're busy I'll help out, but Emma doesn't need or want my help really. I've had a few colleagues in and they'll say 'you're not really taking my order are you?' but I do it more as a laugh."
Simon, who plays Steve McDonald in Corrie, often finds excuses to pop down to Emma's cafe to enjoy her sweet treats.

Emma appeared alongside Simon on All Star Family Fortunes.
In 2019 Emma hit the headlines when she had her nose broken in a horror attack as she tried to protect her brother from a gang of yobs.
She was on a night out with her sibling, who has learning difficulties, when a group started picking on him.
Emma tried to stop them when one of the men punched her in the face.
She's suffered a broken nose and was taken to hospital.
A source told The Sun at the time: "Emma has always been hugely protective of her brother.
"The two of them had done nothing wrong when this awful man started goading him.
"Emma wasn't prepared to let that happen and tried to defuse the situation - but the next second she was punched in the face and left in a lot of pain with a bloody nose."
Emma and Simon wed in November 2010 surrounded by family and showbiz friends.
Simon's good pal and former Corrie co-star Craig Charles was his best man.
