Victoria Beckham in talks for her own TV show after husband David’s smash hit for Netflix

VICTORIA Beckham is in talks to star in her own TV documentary after husband David’s smash hit for Netflix.

It would explore her journey from 1990s pop star with the Spice Girls to becoming a global fashion tycoon — all while raising four children at the helm of one of Britain’s most famous families.

While discussions have been ongoing since the summer on a potential series, TV execs are keen to progress things.

They have been struck by viewers’ reaction to Victoria’s candid humour and intelligence in David’s recent four-parter, Beckham.

A source said: “This will be a documentary exploring Victoria’s meteoric rise in the fashion world; how she’s built a fashion and beauty empire from scratch.

“The focus will very much be on the business brand, but will detail how she had to overcome the naysayers post-Spice Girls and defied the cynics.

“At times her journey wasn’t easy, and there will be a blood, sweat and tears look behind the scenes at the sheer graft she has put into reinventing herself.

“Off the back of David’s success, and how well she came across, people will also see, in depth, her wit and sarcasm.

“Of course there will be some personal life elements and David, and her celebrity pals, will feature in the background.

"It’s early days but everyone is very excited about this production.”

The 49-year-old launched her fashion label in 2008 and a lower-priced, diffusion label in 2011.

Over the years, a string of A-listers have worn Victoria’s designs and it is hoped at least one famous face could be persuaded to feature in the new show.

The likes of Gwyneth PaltrowMichelle Williams, Rosie Huntington-Whitely and Kate Winslet have been seen wearing the brand.

It comes as Beckham, which was released on October 4, has finished a second week at the top of Netflix’s global chart.

It has been streamed in 25million households so far.

The show’s success has underlined the continuing popularity and interest in the couple — who have both received OBEs at Buckingham Palace and attended Prince Harry and his wife Meghan’s wedding in 2018.

A TV source added yesterday: “Beckham has proven that even 24 years after they first wed, the public remain captivated by David and Victoria so there’s hope a series focusing on the leading lady will do just as well.”
