Big Brother in homophobia row as Kerry uses offensive slur – and ITV launch investigation as it’s broadcast live on air
ITV has launched an investigation into Big Brother after Kerry used an offensive slur on air.
The moment was broadcast during the live stream - with producers failing to catch it in time.
Normally, birdsong plays out when housemates are discussing something that can't be aired.
However, between 11pm and 2am on October 16, Kerry's comment threw the show into a homophobia row.
It happened as the housemates were preparing to go to bed and decided to play a prank on the NHS worker.
Olivia and Jenkin hid her luxury mattress and lied that viewers had voted for the housemate they most wanted to lose it.

Annoyed Kerry vented about the decision, in which she used an offensive slur to complain about the prank.
Olivia and Jenkin then came clean they had made it up to trick her.
The moment didn't go unnoticed by viewers who were outraged by what Kerry said on the live stream.
One said: "Another slip of the mask."

"I hope Kerry gets reprimanded for that", another added.
Someone else said: "I genuinely haven't heard someone use that expression in about 10 years. Shockingly awful and outdated. Actually even surprised Kerry would say it on TV."
Another explained: "The problem is the context in which Kerry used it."
This isn't the first time Kerry has caused controversy inside the famous house.
She came under fire this week for complaining to her housemates about being in the higher tax bracket because of her earnings.
Kerry works as Head of Patient Experience in her home county of Essex and is likely to earn between £58,972 and £81,138 a year based on job adverts for the same role in other NHS trusts.
Those earning £50,271 to £125,140 pay 40 percent income tax on the amount they earn over the lower threshold number.
She said: "I really need to stop moaning paying a higher tax bracket, I don’t think it’s fair. I’m really proud of myself because it’s really hard in the NHS, but I begrudge paying the higher tax bracket massively."
Welshman Jenkin then said he got just £250 a month in benefit payments while he was looking for work.
He was furious that Kerry had moaned about her earnings.
A spokesman for Big Brother said: "Kerry was brought to the diary room to discuss her inappropriate use of language.

"Kerry understood and apologised for any offence caused."
