Emmerdale pregnancy trap plot exposed during furious row
STRUGGLING to adapt to her life with PMDD, Cathy Hope hatched a shocking plan to overcome her symptoms – getting pregnant.
However, things don’t go accordingly and her ambitions come to light next week in Emmerdale.
The teen portrayed by Gabrielle Dowling was suspected to be suffering from Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD) earlier this year.
Her supposed condition even led to her leaving the ITV village when she physically lashed out at her father, leaving him hurt.
But after several weeks away, Cathy returned home and got her official diagnosis, confirming Manpreet Sharma’s initial prognosis.
Since then, Cathy has continued to struggle with her symptoms and, in recent scenes of the Yorkshire-based soap, she figured out how she could finally get rid of them.
As PMDD symptoms are linked to a person’s menstrual cycle, it is unlikely for them to experience these during a potential pregnancy.
Cathy was hopeful when she heard that not only would pregnancy help her with her difficult symptoms but would also stop them once she had a child.
As a result, the sixteen-year-old decided she would try and get pregnant – and who better than Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) to help her?
Coming up next week, however, April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) intercepts Samson and tells him all about Cathy’s plan.
Incredulous and hurt, the lad searches for answers from Cathy.
In later scenes, things go from bad to worse for Cathy as her father Bob’s tour of the B&B comes across both her and April mid-fight.
How will Bob react if he figures out what they are talking about?
Samson became a father for the first time in late 2022 when Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) gave birth to their daughter, Esther.
Amelia and Samson were intimate earlier in the year, unbeknownst to anybody as the latter seemed to genuinely harbour feelings for her.
