CHAS Dingle was shocked to see her son had been brought back to the village by her brothers Cain and Caleb.

Will he ever make amends with his family?

Danny Miller reprised the role of Aaron Dingle just in time for Super Soap Week as his ITV alter-ego landed himself in trouble.

Aaron was brought back tot he eponymous village by both of his uncles, Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) and Caleb Milligan (Will Ash).

His mother, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) was soon made aware that he was back but the Woolpack bar manager didn't get the family reunion she was holding out hope for.

As regular viewers of the Yorkshire-based drama will remember, Aaron and Chas left things on bad terms when the former decided to exit Emmerdale following his sister Liv Flaherty's tragic death.

More Emmerdale

To top it all off, he couldn't stand the fact his mother was having an affair with Al Chapman behind her then-husband Paddy Kirk's back.

Aaron has been protective of Paddy ever since he discovered his mother was cheating on him as the vet has been a constant source of support for him.

Unfortunately, his time in Italy has clearly changed him and Aaron is more closed off and cold than ever.

Coming up next week, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) is taken aback by Aaron his vitriol, when the pair have a conversation about the vet's recent suicide attempt.

After calling time on his marriage with Chas earlier this year, Paddy struggled with his mental health and considered taking his own life.

Paddy’s hurt, but refuses to give up on Aaron and his words seemingly hit the mark with him.

Later on, arriving at the Woolpack, Aaron’s seething to see the family toasting the late Faith Dingle, having not been invited.

He takes money from the till and leaves abruptly.
