EASTENDERS fans have been left 'screaming and shaking' after Stacey Slater was attacked by Theo Hawthorne - before the show gave a nod to a legendary villain.

Tonight's episode of the BBC soap followed Stacey and her family in the aftermath of not being granted a Stalking Order against twisted teacher Theo.

Stacey initially refused to leave the house but was encouraged by daughter Lily to join her on a walk around the Square.

They almost immediately bumped into Theo, rendering Stacey speechless, before teenager Lily gave him a piece of her mind.

Galvanised by her young daughter, Stacey then blasted Theo herself when he followed her across the Square later in the evening, telling him she would never love him and he made her feel sick.

Stacey then settled down for a night in to try and relax, but Theo had other plans, sneaking into the house after being able to pull open the kitchen window.

As she headed into the kitchen, she was confronted by her stalker, who moved towards her and said: "I want to show you how I feel, you'll see...you'll see and you'll like it."

He then grabbed her and pinned her down on the kitchen floor ready to rape her, but they were interrupted by a drunken Freddie, who had been struggling all episode with the repercussions of his dad Graham raping his mum Little Mo followed by an altercation in Peggy's.

Stacey tried to scream for help but Theo covered her mouth, but her muffled cries were still heard by Freddie, who came into the kitchen and immediately pulled Theo off her.

Theo tried to claim it had been consensual, as a sobbing Stacey insisted he was lying.

Considering the battle Freddie has been having with the bombshell news that he was the product of his mum being raped by Graham, it came as no surprise when he punched Theo.

The teacher hit back, and as Freddie recovered he noticed the iron Stacey had been using on the counter.

As Theo moved towards Stacey again, Freddie suddenly hit him on the head with the iron, in an epic call back to the moment his mum Little Mo had done the exact same thing to her abusive husband Trevor Morgan when he tried to rape her in 2001.

Freddie then started punching Theo as he lay on the floor, all his pent up rage coming out, before Stacey cried out for him to stop.

As the soap's classic 'duff duffs' rang out, EastEnders viewers took to social media to share their shock at the scenes, and how bosses had managed to come full circle with the Freddie and Little Mo iron moment.

One wrote: "I’ve been screaming in my kitchen for the last 10 minutes #Eastenders is raising my blood pressure."

Another added: "Freddie re enacting the moment Little Moe became Big Mo with one swing of a Morphy Richards."

A third simply put: "Holy crap. That ending though #iron."

Meanwhile a fourth shared: "But did you see throwback to Little Mo & Trevor with a certain object … Freddie truly is his mothers son."
