BBC News has announced a presenter shake-up as Emma Vardy’s replacement has been revealed – and fans are over the moon.
Last month, Emma told fans she was leaving her role as Northern Ireland Correspondent to pursue her career in Los Angeles.
Emma posted a photo of herself smiling at the camera while holding her newborn baby boy Jago Fionn and a small American flag.
She captioned it: “We’ve certainly had our hands (& hearts) full lately, now there’s a big adventure ahead for my wee family.
“After an incredible 5 years in Northern Ireland, Jago Fionn
@Mr_PlusOne & I are off to actual Hollywood!
“Not for my acting skills but to become the BBC’s LA Correspondent.”
The BBC have now announced who will replace the journalist.
Taking to X/Twitter, the flagship channel penned: “Delighted to announce that Sara Girvin has been appointed as the new Ireland Correspondent for BBC News. Congratulations Sara!”
Sara has been a Newsline correspondent for the BBC for the past eight years.
Fans were delighted with the news and rushed to comment.
