Netflix fans thrilled as beloved show confirms return to screens next year for final season
NETFLIX fans are gearing up for another wild ride as the streamer confirms The Umbrella Academy is returning in 2024.
The hit series The Umbrella Academy is returning for its fourth and final season more than a year after season 3 premiered.

Show bosses confirmed back in February that the fourth season was in production.
A brief statement was posted on social media at the time. It read: “Family meeting, Brellies: We’re going on a fourth and final adventure.”
The Umbrella Academy’s official social media platforms were updated again yesterday with important news regarding the upcoming season.
Fans of the show will note the important date of the announcement - October 1 - which is an important date in the show, the main characters’ birthdays.

The update read: “On October 1, 1989, our extraordinary super-powered babies were born. In 2024, they return. Happy birthday, brellies.”
Alongside the statement was a fun birthday video of the cast, which was complete with party hats, balloons, confetti and a piñata.
The sci-fi comedy-drama stars Tom Hopper, Elliot Page, David Castañeda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Aiden Gallagher, and as the Umbrella siblings.
They’re joined by Ritu Arya, Colm Feore and Genesis Rodriguez, who round out the show’s central cast.

But, news of the upcoming season came with new casting announcements, as three new faces will debut in Season 4.
“The Umbrella Academy family is getting even bigger: welcome Nick Offerman, Megan Mullally and David Cross to the cast in the final season!”
Parks and Recreation stars Nick and Megan are teaming up again, with Tudum confirming the pair are “playing a very different set of spouses than you’re used to: Doctors Gene and Jean Thibedeau.”
“Now they’ll be rocking sensible footwear in The Umbrella Academy as a pair of mild-mannered Midwestern community college professors… but we have a feeling the Thibedeaus’ lives will get a lot less sensible when they get caught up in some timeline-twisting chaos,” the outlet stated.
Tudum also confirmed that Arrested Development star David will play a new character, shy business owner and family man Sy Grossman.
“Sy is desperate to reconnect with his estranged (and unnamed) daughter; he will stop at nothing to get her back.”
Netflix fans were thrilled about the news of the upcoming season.
“Okay, 2024 we have a date, people!” one happily shared.
“Brb watching this on loop until they return in 2024,” another said of the video, while a third added: “I don’t think I can wait until 2024!”
“Very sad to see the series reach its final season, but I’m very excited to see what’s in store for us!” said a fourth fan.
The fourth season will pick up from the shocking Season 3 cliffhanger, which saw several of the main characters get “blitzed” away before a new variation of characters returned in the new timeline created by their adoptive dad Reginald Hargreeves.

Big changes are afoot in Season 4 as the Umbrella siblings discover they’ve lost their powers. Hopefully that won’t stop them from doing that they do best, though; teaming up to fix the timeline and save the world.

Seasons 1 to 3 of The Umbrella Academy are available to stream on Netflix. Season 4 will premiere in 2024.
