Saturday Kitchen Live presenting shake-up as Matt Tebbutt is replaced by major BBC star

SATURDAY Kitchen Live had a big shake-up today, as host Matt Tebbutt was missing from the show.

The much-loved TV chef was instead replaced by another huge BBC star.

During BBC Breakfast, host Charlie Staylt threw to the Saturday Kitchen studio to find out what they had coming up on their show at 10am.

But viewers got a surprise when it was The One Show star Alex Jones who was hosting the show instead of celebrity chef Matt.

Speaking to Alex, Charlie said: "Matt's disappeared and you're there instead!"

Introducing herself as Matt's replacement, she said with a big smile: "Absolutely! Matt's away and I'm here to play!"

She then went on to introduce her guests of the day, which included Love Island voiceover Iain Stirling.

Alex is known for hosting The One Show every evening and, like Matt, is a much-loved BBC star.

She has stood in for the TV chef before, and proved popular with viewers.

It's not known when Matt will return to the show, but he is a regular on our TV screens thanks to him hosting Saturday Kitchen every weekend.

The popular star has also hosted other foodie shows; from Food Unwrapped to Save Money: Good Food alongside GMB's Susanna Reid.
