EastEnders star rushed to A&E after nasty accident lands her at hospital ‘in pain and covered in blood’
EASTENDERS actress Preeya Kalidas was rushed to hospital after a nasty accident in the gym.
The BBC One soap star, 43, was left in "pain, blood and throbbing" after the early-morning mishap which required a visit to accident and emergency.
Preeya, who played Amira Masood in EastEnders from 2009 to 2012, addressed the incident on her X, formerly known as Twitter, account.
She told fans: "So up and about starting the day in the gym.
"Then trapped finger in door.
"Now In A&E .. moral of the story. Anything can happen at any point so LIVE!"

In a later message she shared a short video of her right index finger being covered by a bandage.
Clearly in good spirits, Preeya wrote: "Also Thank you @NHSuk staff for being amazing.
"Through the pain, blood and throbbing the nurse made me laugh [and said] 'I need to put this on like a condom'."
One pal was quick to write: "Oh no!! Hope you’re ok!"

Preeya then reassured fans as she added: "I’m all good thanks."
Recently, Preeya delighted EastEnders fans as she reunited with her former on-screen husband.
The stunning actress was out and about when she suddenly spotted Marc Elliott, 42, who played Syed Masood, in a restaurant.
Seizing the moment, Preeya jumped online and recorded a video of their chance meeting for their thrilled followers.
She says: "Look who I just bumped into..."
Pointing and giggling, Preeya added: "My ex husband!"
Since her soap stint, Preeya has gone on to appear in several TV shows and took on the role of Pinky in the stage musical of Bend It Like Beckham.
She previously played Monica in the film version.
Marc, meanwhile, has continued with his career on the small screen and featured in shows including Holby City and Call The Midwife.
